In 2001, J. Rimann published four flags of the Georgian Border
Forces.
The flags of the Border Forces were adopted by President
E. Shevardnadze's Decree No 507 (25 August 1999).
The emblem in the centre of the flags is the arms of the Border
Forces. That ideogram has been known since Ist-IInd centuries. That
symbol was shown on ancient Georgian coins and border stones, now
kept in the Georgian State Museum.
In the two first flags shown below, the ideogram is encircled with
52 sunbeams, symbolizing the 52 weeks of the year.
